Native Pollinator Medicine Gardens:

An exploration of medicinal native plants we can bring into our gardens that benefit our pollinators while sharing their medicine with us. These plants give us the opportunity to nurture a reciprocal connection by stewarding the land around us and supporting the more than human families, while also nourishing ourselves. A symbiotic and cyclical way of being as we give to the land and kin gives back to us. Site conditions for planting and best growing practices will be discussed, and there will be limited pollinator friendly medicinal native plants available for purchase.

This class is led by Cody Westendorf - herbalist, forager, beekeeper, kitchen experimentalist, and England Avis - flora & fungi enthusiast, bioregional herbalist, forager, and wildcrafting creatrix.

This plant walk takes place during Third Coast Herbal Collective’s Barter Market. There will be vendors, skill shares, open jams, & local food. What better way to celebrate the Fall Equinox?

Bring a potluck dish to share & join us for a day of community!

Spring Plant Walk

Join England for a flora & fungi walk in Milan, MI!

I will share my knowledge of wild edible and medicinal plants & mushrooms we come across. This is a fun and easy way to get outside, connect with community, and learn about the natural world around you. This is a foray into plant identification of edibles and medicinals but we will not be foraging any plants together.

You can expect to meet spring ‘weeds’ along the lines of violet, cleavers, nettle, horsetail, wild onion, dandelion, garlic mustard, chickweed, burdock, yarrow, fiddlehead ferns, bittercress, oyster and turkey tail mushrooms, and more!

This wander will be held at a private location, please RSVP to receive the address. $20 to attend, RSVP or ask questions at wanderingrootsofferings@gmail.com. Venmo @England-Avis or cash accepted day of.

All levels & ages welcome. Event will happen rain or shine, dress accordingly & bring what you need to stay comfortable. There is no drinking water on site, outdoor compost toilets available.

Wandering Roots will be vending at the spring Barter Market hosted by Third Coast Herbal Collective at Yellow Moon Yurt

There will be skill shares, vendors, open jams, & local food. This month you can expect a seed swap, mushroom log workshop, maple sugar workshop, & music around the bonfire. What better way to celebrate the Spring equinox?

Bring a feast bundle (plate, cutlery, mug) if you’d like to partake in farm fresh food! Blanket barterers are welcome too! BYO handmade goods to trade, or cash is welcome.

Barter Markets are free to attend, donations accepted day of by teachers/workshop leaders.
