Meet England,

creatress of Wandering Roots

England is an herbalist, gardener, forager and wildcrafter, and all-around flora & fungi enthusiast. Wandering Roots emerged as a creative outlet to share herbal abundance and thoughtfully crafted gifts from the Earth.

England’s bioregional approach to wildcrafting prioritizes plants she shares direct relationship with. Offerings are created with plants grown in her own gardens, intentionally foraged, or sourced responsibly from local organic and regenerative farms.

Born & raised in the Great Lakes region, England currently stewards land in southeastern Michigan and works in the native plant realm supporting biodiversity in ecosystems near and far. Her background is centered around increasing education & access to nourishment; she has worked for a nonprofit urban farm growing food for the community, been a local food coordinator for a drive-thru farmers market, spent time as an elementary school garden educator, and privately consulted on numerous garden projects.

As a lifelong student, England seeks opportunities to expand her knowledge and weave a network of community. She was first introduced to herbalism by an elder in Appalachia, Marcia of Laska’s Grove, during an immersive 18-month farm fellowship program offered by Allegheny Mountain Institute. England has since studied with jim mcdonald in his energetic folk herbalism intensive program, Lindera, and continues to engage in various classes offered by community educators. She is also a Michigan-licensed wild mushroom forager and master gardener. Most recently, she has completed a poisonous plant medicine & plant spirit communication course with Kathryn Solie.

Through Wandering Roots, England invites you to strengthen your physical and spiritual relationships with the natural world & with yourself by incorporating quality, potent, delicious herbal remedies into your daily rituals. Let these offerings help you tap into the magic plants have to offer.
